Obituary of Harry Charles Beneteau

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Harry Beneteau at the age of 79. Beloved husband of Rose (nee Drouillard), proudly married for 58 years. Loving father to Wayne (Jackie), Vaughn (Nadine), Kevin (Cheryl), and Lisa McDermott (Liam). He is survived by his siblings Stan (Betty), Pauline Cookson (George), Paul (Brenda), Jim (Debbie), Joanne Whitcher (Paul), Chuck (Connie), and Bill (Anne). He will be dearly missed by his grandchildren Lawson, Evin, Sarah, Mia, Darren, Bijoux, and Graham, and also two great grandchildren, many nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends. Predeceased by his parents Charles and Evangeline (nee Laframboise), River Canard. In-Law to Louis Drouillard - 2008 (Sandy), Lorraine Babcock - 1989 (Jim), Fred Droulliard - 2018 (Colleen), and Anna Marie Graham - 2010 (Cortland).

Known to be hard working, reliable, and strong willed, Harry loved time with his family and was devoted to his faith. Harry was very active during his life with scuba diving, hockey, judo, squash, golf, fishing, hunting, cycling, snowmobiling, cross country and downhill skiing. He was know to many as "Charlie", especially during his time at Chrysler Canada, retired in 1998. In retirement he enjoyed winters at the cottage in Michigan and summers sailing. As a devout Catholic he was an active member of the Knights of Columbus, the Men's Group G.O.L.F., Cursillo movement, St. John the Baptist Church, and was a Director of Hope of St. Joseph Shelter.

An open house celebration of Harry's life will be held on Monday April 1, 2024 from 2-4pm and 7-9pm at Windsor Chapel Funeral Home (Central Chapel), 1700 Tecumseh Rd. E., Windsor. The Mass will be held at St. John the Baptist Church, 225 Brock Street, Amherstburg, on April 2, 2024 at 10:30 am, followed by the burial at St. Joseph's Cemetery, 9443 Malden Road, River Canard.
