Anna Kosyk [Sapowytsch] of Amherstburg, Ontario died on July 2, 2018, at the age of 92. Anna was born in Ukraine and immigrated to Canada after World War II. She settled in Amherstburg where she met and married Michael Kosyk. They became partners in all things, working together for over 60 years, building a successful farm and raising their family. They were both active in their Ukrainian church and community and spent many hours driving their children to Ukrainian dance rehearsals and performances. Anna loved the land and was the consummate farm wife. In addition to working full-time alongside Mike on the farm, she grew just about everything in her garden, vegetables and flowers alike. Her skills in preserving, cooking, and baking were legendary. She had an artist’s hand with Ukrainian embroidery and her pysanky [painted Easter eggs] were tiny masterpieces. She was an unstoppable bundle of loving energy, and above all a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. Anna is survived by her husband; son Michael [Roma]; grandson Patrick Austin; granddaughters Andrea and Talia; great-grandsons Brennan & Gabriel; brother-in-law Dmytro [Nina]; nephews Peter and Bill; niece Sonya; cousins Bill, John, and Tom Neilipovitz and their families. She was pre-deceased by her parents Iliko & Anna [Stepaniwna], daughter Mary Austin and grandson Christopher Austin. Visitation at WINDSOR CHAPEL (South Chapel) 3048 Dougall Ave. 519.253.7234. on Friday, July 6, 2018 from 6-9pm. Parish prayers at 7:30pm.
