Leon M. Janisse

Leon Janisse is the Licensed Manager of Windsor Chapel Funeral Home. He has been involved in the funeral home since the age of 16. He is the 5th generation to carry on in the family business. Leon grew up in Riverside and attended St. John Vianney Elementary School, F.J. Brennan High School and then graduated from the Funeral Service Education Program at Humber College in 1989. Leon and his wife Lesley (nee Turton), married since 1991, currently reside in Tecumseh and are the proud parents of Chelsea, Zachary and Braeden. Leon and his family attend St. Gregory the Great Catholic Church. Along with his children, Leon assists with minor sports in Tecumseh, such as hockey (Windsor Wildcats), soccer, and baseball.

Philip Albemy Janisse

Philip’s compassion for people makes him an exceptional asset for the Funeral service Industry. He is a 5th generation family member of Windsor Chapel Funeral Home who brings over 15 years experience with him and is the current Manager of the Main Chapel. Philip enrolled at Humber College in 2005 where he graduated with honors as a Licensed Funeral Director. He was born in Windsor and later raised in LaSalle where he met his wife Dawn (nee Kennedy) in 1997. Philip and Dawn married in 2004 and are proud parents of Olivia May and Sophia Noelle. Family is very precious to both Philip and Dawn. For this reason we are very proud to have Philip as part of our family-oriented industry.

Chris J. Janisse

Chris was born and raised in the west end of Windsor, where he attend to St. James Elementary School and graduated from Assumption College School. Chris and his wife, Julie (Duguay), married in 1998, currently reside in LaSalle and are proud parents of Alexanne and Richard. Chris has helped numerous families for over 25 years by facilitating their estate plans as well as helping preplan their funerals. He has also been a Licensed Life Insurance Agent since 2009. Chris is a proud coach for his son and his team, the LaSalle Stompers which Windsor Chapel sponsors. His son is also a very active participant of the LaSalle Sabres Hockey Team. 

Marie J. Janisse

Marie is the sister to Jules and Albemy Janisse, and has been working in the Funeral Home with the family since 2001. Marie is trained as a Grief Facilitator and Aftercare Provider. Having 33 yrs in the banking industry, Marie is uniquely qualified to offer the necessary information needed to help families in finalizing their estate affairs for their loved ones (CPP, Child Benefits, Widows Benefits, etc.) Marie is a very compassionate, caring, genuine person who is a great asset to Windsor Chapel Funeral Homes. She loves her job and learning new things. She greatly enjoys living a healthy lifestyle and forgets how old she is. Marie and Randy, her husband since 1970 and their son, Jamie currently reside in Windsor. Marie loves family functions and is very close to all her family. She enjoys working outside on her flowers and garden. 

Scott R. Lockwood

In addition to being a licensed funeral director, Scott Lockwood is the Director of Grief Services & Education at Windsor Chapel Funeral Homes Ltd. Prior to transitioning into funeral service, Scott was an ordained minister for 12 years and served congregations in both Alberta and Ontario.  He still continues to maintain his ministry credentials and, along with his family, is very involved serving at his local church Parkwood Gospel Temple.  In addition to his undergraduate education (Bachelor of Theology), Scott is an active member of the Association for Death Education and Counseling, an international association of nearly 1,800 clinicians and educators working in end-of-life care and bereavement.  He has completed the association’s credential, the CT (Certification in Thanatology).  Scott has always possessed a strong passion to help people, especially in their time of need.  He is a gifted speaker and presenter and firmly believes that partnership in care and education is a powerful tool in the effort to help the community learn more about how to cope with death and the grief journey after loss.  Through workshops, seminars, support groups, and in-service programs, Scott is spreading awareness and supporting grief care for the better.

Scott and his wife Kristen are proud parents to two boys Elijah and Maxwell.

Britany Houghton

Born and raised in Chatham-Kent, Britany chose to join the family of Funeral Directors at Windsor Chapel in 2011. Her journey in funeral service began during a high school co-operative education placement with McKinlay Funeral Homes Ltd. After graduating from Humber College in 2005, she returned there as a licensed Funeral Director. Britany brings to us a diverse knowledge of funeral service, and excellent technical skills, having received the Embalmer’s Supply Company award during her internship at Blake Funeral Chapel in Thunder Bay. She currently serves on the Humber College Advisory Committee, helping her to guide the education of future Funeral Service Professionals. 

Tom (T.J.) Jagatic

Tom is compassionate, sensitive and understanding to the diverse needs and cultures of the many families that he is privileged and honored to serve in the Windsor and surrounding communities. The level of dedication and personalization that Tom exhibits is beyond the expectations of many of his families. It is Tom’s devoted commitment and his belief that the “smallest” of details are of vital importance to his families that makes Tom a valuable asset to Windsor Chapel Funeral Home Ltd. Born and raised in Windsor, Tom is very proud of his Croatian heritage (reads, speaks and writes it) along with affiliation with St. Francis of Assisi Croatian Catholic Church in Windsor. Tom is the past president and treasurer of the Windsor-Essex Funeral Directors’ Association. A resident of Tecumseh, Ontario, Tom is happily married to his wife Paulette (nee Hanna) and they have three beautiful children named Gabriella, Luka and Isabella. In his free time, Tom enjoys spending time with family and friends, playing bocce ball and enjoying the hobby of model railroading. 

Melissa Martin

Melissa was born and raised in the Tecumseh area and is a graduate of St. Anne’s High School. She has been a part of the Windsor Chapel team since her Grade 12 co-operative education program. Melissa graduated from the Funeral Service Education Program through Humber College in 2013 and obtained her Funeral Director’s License the same year. Melissa possesses strong family values, and is very passionate about helping the Windsor-Essex community. Melissa enjoys traveling with her husband Lucas, also a funeral director, and spending time with their two fur-babies, Hudson and Harper. 

Jordan Bulloch

Jordan Bulloch is a native of Cornwall, Ontario, and began his career in a family-owned funeral home at the age of 18. Following a move to Toronto, he had an eight-year sales career in the fitness industry before attending Humber College. He graduated from the Funeral Service Education program in 2014, and was licensed in Ontario the same year. Jordan served as a licensed funeral director in the Woodbridge, Ontario area for more than three years before moving to Windsor. Jordan is dedicated to his fitness regime, where he is currently enrolled in competitive training at Windsor CrossFit.  He enjoys spending time with family and wife, Victoria, also a licensed funeral director. The couple is expecting their first child in April 2019.

Victoria Bulloch

Victoria is a native of LaSalle and a graduate of Sandwich Secondary School. She completed her Bachelor of Arts degree at the University of Windsor in 2012 prior to graduating from Humber College’s Funeral Service Education program in 2014. She has been a licensed funeral director in Ontario since 2014. Victoria gained professional experience in the Greater Toronto, and Hamilton areas, before returning to Windsor recently to join the Windsor Chapel Funeral Home team. She is excited to return to her hometown to serve the community that raised her.

When not working, Victoria enjoys spending time with family, friends and husband Jordan Bulloch, who is also a licensed funeral director. The pair are expecting their first child in April 2019. Victoria is an animal lover – three cats and a dog – and has swam competitively since childhood.

John W. Lalonde

John was born and raised in Collingwood, Ontario and attended Collingwood Collegiate Institute. Following high school, John spent two years studying Law Enforcement at Seneca College, graduating in 1990. John went on to graduate from the Funeral Service Education program at Humber College in 1994. John has been a Licensed Funeral Director in the Windsor area since 1994, proudly joining the family at Windsor Chapel in January of 2008. John resides in Windsor and is the proud father of his son Joshua. In his free time John and his son Josh, can often be found fishing along the shore of the Detroit river. He also enjoys a day of golf, and watching his son play travel baseball and basketball.

Jill Starnes

Jill was born and raised in Quebec and moved to Amherstburg in 1999 where she still resides. She attended Wayne State University in Detroit and graduated on the Dean’s List with a Bachelor’s of Science in Mortuary Science. A couple years after obtaining her Michigan Funeral Director’s license, she wanted to start working closer to home. In 2012, Jill began working as a funeral director in Windsor. She has continued to keep both her Ontario and Michigan licenses active since. Jill is an active volunteer at St Jean de Baptiste School in Amherstburg since 2012, a crisis volunteer with Victim Services of Windsor & Essex County since 2012, and a volunteer with Ronald McDonald House since 2017. She joined the Windsor Chapel team in February 2016 and is proud to be part of a family-owned funeral home.

Thomas Holisek

Born and raised in the Windsor/LaSalle area, Thom is a graduate of Sandwich Secondary School. He has served many families as a licensed Funeral Director in the Windsor area for the past 27 years; and has been employed by the Windsor Chapel Funeral Home since 1983. Thom is the proud father of his children Matthew, Daniel and Brittany, and currently resides in Windsor with his wife Cristina.

Zoey Soulliere

Zoey was born and raised in Belle River Ontario, she attended St. Anne high school and after graduation Zoey began her education in nursing.  Soon after Zoey started a part time funeral assistant position, Zoey realized her passion for working with families in their time of loss and entered the Funeral Director Program at Humber College.  Zoey graduated with Honours and completed her internship between Hamilton and St. Catharines.

Zoey’s goal to return to serve her community was fulfilled when she attained a Funeral Director position with Windsor Chapel where she is very excited to be a part of dedicated and caring team.

Daniel Verkoeyen

Daniel has found his passion to serve the community through his career as a Funeral Director. He was raised in Essex and Cottam and now lives in Kingsville with his family. They attend church in Essex at Rock of Help Christian Centre where his father, Pastor Bob Verkoeyen, is the Senior Pastor of 34 years. Daniel joyfully serves in the church when needed. Before receiving his Funeral Director Licence in 2014, Daniel enjoyed serving guests at various restaurants in Windsor and Essex County. Daniel has a Certificate of Biblical Studies from Living Faith Bible College in Alberta and a Diploma of Business Accounting from St. Clair College. Daniel enjoys a variety of activities including spending time with family, bike riding, gardening, and swimming. Daniel has gone on several mission trips to St. Vincent and the Grenadines and he was able to climb the volcano, La Soufriere, twice while he was there. “I am blessed to be able to serve God in my career by caring for families in our community who are experiencing the loss of a loved one.”

Gillian Brusich

Born and raised in St. Catharines, Gillian decided as a high school co op, to enter the funeral service industry. After attending Humber College in the fall of 2004, she completed her internship with a Toronto based funeral home, and became a licensed funeral director in 2006. Gillian accepted a position full time with a local corporate funeral home in Windsor after her graduation. In 2015, she decided to pursue further education and took a break from the funeral industry to attend school, where she graduated on the Presidents List with a degree in Human Resources. Wanting to get back to where it all started, and to work for a family owned company, she joined the Windsor Chapel family in October 2018. She strives on helping others through their most difficult journey and is proud to be working back in an industry that can provide that care and compassion to those families that need it. Gillian currently resides in Forest Glade with her husband Sebastian and their sons Noah, Grayson and daughter Emersyn. She is also a proud dog mama to their Pug, Hanna. She can be often found baking and shuffling her kids to different events, and her slight obsession with Pinterest provides her the tools needed to keep her busy with do it-yourself projects and decorating around her home. 

Doug Krystia

Doug was born and raised in Sudbury, attending Laurentian University for Commerce and Economics. One summer he worked at a Family Run Funeral Home and knew he had found his calling. He registered immediately for Humber College and graduated as a Licensed Ontario Funeral Director in 1994. Doug married his high school sweetheart Tammy, in 1992 and together they have three awesome kids, Gabriella, Josh (2015) and Matthew. Volunteering and public speaking for charities has always been a big part of his life, he is humbled to be associated with organizations like: Little Hands, Childcan, Canadian Blood Services and Connections Family Learning Centre. Doug has followed an interesting path from Sudbury to Windsor in 1999, living in the Walkerville area working at local funeral homes and leaving the industry completely for his favourite job, stay at home father, for several years. He now resides in Tecumseh and is happy & excited to be at a Family Run Funeral Home again. Doug really enjoys experiencing life, live concerts and sporting events, especially Michigan Football. Go Blue!!!!!

Born and raised in Windsor, Sarah is a graduate of St. Joseph’s Catholic High school. She later graduated from the graphic Design program at St. Clair College receiving her diploma in 2011. Sarah and Steve married in 2011 and in 2014 welcomed their first child Ruby into the world. In her spare time she enjoys photography, reading and spending time with her family. Family is very important to Sarah so working in a family owned and operated business is the perfect fit. Sarah is looking forward to helping families in their time of need.

Mike Barry

Michael was born and raised in Windsor where he graduated from Holy Names High School and St. Clair College. He got his start in funeral service in 1994 when he worked for Carriage Services (a transfer service for funeral homes in Michigan) which lasted 3 years. After a year break from the business, he found similar work closer to home in Windsor where he was employed by another funeral service company called Lesperance Removals and Services. During that time, he also worked in IT in Michigan. His passion for helping people has drawn him to the Windsor Chapel family, and he doesn't plan on turning back. In his spare time, he enjoys spending time with his two children, Christian and Kylee. In Spring of 2014, he joined Hospice of Windsor and Essex County as a volunteer and began to visit Hospice patients at both Met Hospital as well as many patients' own homes to administer Reiki. We are pleased to announce that Mike is now a Certified Reiki Master, Medical Reiki Master, and level 2 Angelic Reiki practitioner.

He retired from Hiram Walker after 30 years of employment. An avid golfer, John is a member of Essex Golf & Country Club. When he's not golfing, his community activities include the Windsor-Essex County Humane Society, Animal Rescue & Transport, and Windsor Lodge No. 403 A.F. & A.M. Being a part of a caring and professional team helping families during their time of need is what drew him to Windsor Chapel. John, his wife Joyce and dogs, reside in Windsor.

Chris was raised near the farming village of Merlin, Ontario. After graduating from Tilbury District High School, Chris attended St.Peter Seminary in London receiving his Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy and Master of Divinity.  Following ordination as a priest in 2003, Chris served in communities throughout Southwestern Ontario, including; Belle River, London, Woodstock, Princeton, Simcoe,Waterford, Port Dover, Emeryville, Tecumseh and Windsor.  Chris went on to pursue work as a Professor at St. Clair College where he teaches in Liberal Arts, Social Service Worker and he worked as a Program Coordinator. He is currently working on a Master of Social Work Degree at the University of Windsor.   Chris is excited to be a part of the Windsor Chapel team where he can use his natural gifts in grief support and education.  He enjoys traveling with his family to baseball parks through the Major and Minor league ball system.  He enjoys photography and has a passion for social justice.

Peter Hayes

Peter was born in Windsor and raised in Tecumseh where he graduated from St. Anne’s High School. He attended St. Peter’s Seminary in London receiving his Master of Divinity, then serving in priestly ministry in parishesin Windsor, St. Clair Beach and Zurich Ontario. Peter went on to pursue work in the field of HIV/AIDS, beginning as a case manager for the Toronto People with AIDS Foundation from 93-98, then working for the AIDS Committee of London where he became the ExecutiveDirector of the organization from 2003-2009. Moving into semi-retirement, Peter wanted to return to the Windsor area to be close to family, seeking work as a Funeral Director Assistant as an effective use of his skills, knowledge and experience. Peter’s interestsinclude social justice, history, travel and cards.

I have been at Windsor Chapel since 2016, I proudly care for the families that come through our door as if they were my own. I am a mother of 2 beautiful children. Tracy was born and raised in Amherstburg. Tracy is the CFO at Windsor Chapel and oversees all financial matters relating to the funeral home as well as all related companies. Before this role, she worked in the construction industry handling all financials at the corporate and executive level for various firms. Tracy holds a Honours Business Commerce from the University of Windsor with majors in Accounting and Marketing. In her spare time, she enjoys fitness training and spending time with her family.

Rose grew up in Lasalle and went to Sandwich Secondary School; she attended St. Clair College and graduated from the Office Administration Program.  She is compassionate, dedicated and takes pride in her work. Rose has strong family values and  is the proud mama of her two children Joe and Krystal and  very happy to be a nonna to her grandson Jace James. Nicole Parent was born and raised in the town of Tecumseh, she attended St.Antoine Elementary school, L’Essor Secondary, and then later graduated from the St. Clair College Finance Program. With her French background she has made her way successfully in the French community. She is a caring and compassionate person that has worked in the funeral industry for over 18 years. Nicole and Ben, married in 1995, are raising their 3 children Taylor Samantha, Ayden Roger and Cole Benjamin all with French background.

Sandra Piché

Born and raised in Windsor, Sandra attended Walkerville Collegiate High School. Following high school she studied Economics and Psychology at the University of Windsor for three years, and then attended St. Clair College where she graduated from the Dental Hygiene Program in 1997.  Sandra lived and worked in Waterloo, Ontario for 15 years after graduating, and then decided it was time to move back home where her family and roots are. Sandra and her husband Mark now reside in Tecumseh, Ontario where they enjoy boating, traveling, snowmobiling, going to sporting events and entertaining with friends and family. Sandra joined our team in April 2011 and knows her past experiences with helping and caring for people will be an asset to Windsor Chapel. 

Guy Potvin

Guy was born in Sturgeon Falls Ontario where he graduated from French River High School in Moilville. He moved to Windsor in 1979 and has worked at Canada Post for 37 years and is happy to have joined the Windsor Chapel team. On his spare time he loves to golf, he's a big hockey fan (GO HABS!) and also a big fan of the Detroit Tigers!

Ashley Radisevich

Ashley was born and raised in the town of LaSalle. She went to Sandwich Secondary High School where she graduated with honours in 2007. From there she went on to study Graphic Design at St. Clair College, receiving her diploma in 2011. As a teenager, she donated her time with the Windsor South Canadians Little League and canvassing with the Canadian Cancer Society. After graduating from St. Clair, she joined the Windsor Chapel team and is very thankful for the opportunity to help families in their time of need. She married her husband, Simo, in October of 2016 and they reside in South Windsor along with their dog, Mia. The couple is expecting their first child in March 2019. When she’s not working, you can find her traveling, reading and simply enjoying life with her family and friends.

André Raymond

André grew up in Windsor, Ontario and in 1998, graduated from École Secondaire L’Essor. He is fluent in both French and English. André worked in the manufacturing industry for several years before attending St. Clair College in 2007 where he graduated in 2009. André met his future wife, Lindsay (nee Shwery), in 1999 and married her in 2004. Together, in October of 2010, they welcomed Evan, their first-born, into the world. André is a member of the Knights of Columbus and attends Paroisse St. Jerome. He enjoys spending time with his family and friends, participating outdoor activities and working out at the gym. André is honoured to be part of the Windsor Chapel team and is looking forward to serving the community. 

Brendan Stevenson

Born and raised in Windsor, Brendan attended F.J. Brennan High School and The University of Windsor. He grew up playing lacrosse and hockey and currently volunteers his time as a coach in the Windsor Warlocks Minor Lacrosse system. When he’s not busy with work or coaching, he can be found at many sports events in the Detroit area, or on the golf course. Brendan has been with us since 2009 and continues to enjoy helping families in their time of need.

Gavin D. Stevenson

Gavin is the father of 2 boys Brendan and Garrett. He grew up in Windsor's West side, and for the last 20 years has lived in the Riverside area. He attended J.E. Benson public elementary school, J.L. Forster Secondary School and St. Clair College where he studied Industrial Engineering and General Technology. Other studies include the Canadian Securities Course and the LLQP life insurance licensing course of which Gavin has completed and is now also a licensed life insurance agent. Gavin joined us in May of 2007 out of his desire to work in our family operated business, and has been involved in the funeral business in various capacities since 1985. Gavin is our pre-planning counselor, and is available to assist families in our office or in their homes. Gavin also provides group presentations to our community. 

Erin Turner

Born and raised in Windsor, Erin graduated from Riverside Secondary School in 2004 and then went on to graduate from the 3 year Graphic Design program at St. Clair College in 2007. Erin has been employed by Windsor Chapel Funeral Home since January 2010 as part of their Graphic Design team. She is thankful for all of the support and encouragement she received from her friends and family, especially her mother Hazel, her sister Lauren, and her Grandfather Herbert Barnes (2010). When Erin isn’t working you can find her playing beach volleyball during the summer, running her personal design and photography business, spending time with her family & friends, enjoying live music, and enjoying life. 

Scott Webster

Scott was born and raised in Windsor where he graduated from Walkerville Collegiate Institute and attended St. Clair College to study in International Business. Scott is proud of his community and currently resides in his family home with his wife Melissa (nee Robinson) and their 2 sons. Active in the community, Scott is the Past President for Windsor/Essex County Crime Stoppers and a Block Captain for the Neighborhood Watch program. He was also a Constable with the Windsor Police Auxiliary Unit where he also served on the Honor Guard. In his spare time, Scott enjoys spending time with his family and playing saxophone throughout Windsor/Essex County. Scott has over 10 years experience in the funeral industry and looks forward to serving you and yours alongside the rest of the Windsor Chapel family. 

Mike Willms

Mike was raised in Windsor and attended Massey Secondary School. Upon graduation, Mike left for London to pursue an undergraduate degree from the University of Western Ontario. After university graduation, he began a twenty-plus-year career with a consulting firm in insurance-related services, attaining a senior leadership certificate from Queens University, and culminating with a number of executive management positions that brought him from London to Calgary to Toronto.  In 2016, Mike returned home to Windsor.

 

Mike is the proud father of two boys, Joshua and Daniel, who are both heavily involved in sports and music. Joshua is now following in his father’s footsteps at Western.

 

Having a passion for community renewal, social justice, and mental health issues, Mike is actively involved in efforts to renew the city through neighbourhood engagement and dealing with challenges such as homelessness, hunger, the opioid epidemic, and street crime.  He is a volunteer with the Downtown Windsor Community Collaborative and Lifeline Urban Ministry.

 

In his down time, Mike can be found at the gym, in the pool, running along the riverfront, or on his bicycle.  An avid fitness enthusiast, Mike is a multiple triathlon participant and completed his first IRONMAN Triathlon in 2018.

 

As part of the Windsor Chapel team, Mike is honoured to continue to serve the community he proudly calls home.

Kenneth M. Armstrong

Ken started in the funeral service in 1962 after graduating from the Hon. W. C. Kennedy Collegiate. He entered Canadian School of Embalming the following year receiving his funeral directors license in 1965. Married to his wife Joyce (nee Kenney) for 49 years and has two married daughters, Paula Hill and Stephanie Letkeman. He is proud grandfather of 7 grandchildren. Ken is very active in his church, Oakwood Bible Chapel and serves as an Elder.

Bernard Hotham

Bernie was born in Seaforth, Ontario and the family moved to Windsor in 1958. Bernie attended Corpus Christie High School and Vincent Massey High School and entered Humber Collage in 1969 where he received his Funeral Directors licence in 1971. He started a long career with the Anderson Funeral home and has worked in the corporate setting for over 25 years. Wanting to finish his career in a family owned funeral home, Bernie joined the staff of Windsor Chapel Funeral Homes in 2015. Bernie is married to Suzanne (Wilhelm) since 1971 and they have 3 children: Brad, Allison Bluhm and Adam, and have 4 grandchildren: Jaxson, Avery, Lilly and Emerson. Bernie has served on many different boards and associations in his long career and he looks forward to being able to assist families with his wealth of experience. He is an avid sports guy and loves to play as much golf as he can. Bernie can help in many ways and can be reached any time day or night for any of your family's needs.

Dale F. Ramsay

Presently retired and working part time at Windsor Chapel Funeral Home. Dale attends St. Angela Merici Church, and is also a member of Knights of Columbus (Past Grand Knight – 3rd Degree and Past Faithful Navigator – 4th Degree). Dale was a Big Brother to 8 boys over 26 years of service and resides in Windsor with his wife, Erla, of 46 years.

Anne Robert

Anne Marie was born and raised in Windsor and attended St. Bernard Elementary and Corpus Christi High school. She has enjoyed over 30 years of working at various positions with the public. Currently Anne Marie has been employed part time with Windsor Chapel for over 20 years. She has been married to her husband Rollie – an Electrical Engineer for over 45 years. They have one daughter Chantel and two grandsons, Jordan and Brenden. Anne Marie enjoys spending time with her grandchildren, vacationing with her husband and volunteering her spare time working with the residents at Malden Park Continuing Care Centre. Retirement is not in her vocabulary.
